I’m New

Thanks for your interest in Delaware Bible Church!

Take some time to browse around this website—doing so will help you learn who we are as a church body and what we are about. We also encourage you to view a LIVESTREAMED service or visit our SERMONS archive. That being said, the best way to get to know us may be to visit in person. We hold identical worship services on Sunday morning at 9:00 and 10:45. The Church Office is typically open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Below you will find several Frequently Asked Questions that visitors often consider before attending a service. If you want more information, or if you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at the phone number or email address at the bottom of this page.

Sunday Mornings and Evenings:

  • Most of the time, we reserve the first Sunday evening of the month for a Communion service, which includes a testimony time and a brief devotional. We typically reserve the third Sunday evening as an Equipping Night, when we explore a topic of current interest. Sometimes, however, church informational meetings, church business meetings, or various ministry meetings take place instead of a Sunday evening service. When there is a fifth Sunday, the evening is usually given to a fellowship time or a special time of teaching. Find out exactly what’s planned for each week by viewing the CHURCH CALENDAR.
  • The first and third Sunday evenings are also meeting times for The Forge Forum, part of our youth ministry. Visit THE FORGE to learn more.
  • The second and fourth Sunday evenings are usually reserved for LIFE Group meetings. Visit LIFE GROUPS to find out more about this ministry.
  • From 7:00 until 9:00, we host an Open Gym for men from the community who wish to play basketball.

Wednesday Evenings:

  • Throughout the year, DBC family members gather for prayer and a brief Bible study on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 until 8:00.
  • During the school year, Wednesday evenings are also meeting times for AWANA, THE FORGE, and some of our adult Bible studies.
  • From 8:15 until 10:00, we host an Open Gym for men from the community who wish to play basketball.

Frequently Asked Questions

DO NOT DELETE
How early should I arrive?
In general, we recommend arriving 10–15 minutes prior to the start of a service. If you will be bringing children whom you plan to place in our children’s ministry that morning, you can find details about that on our YOUTH & FAMILY page.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever clothing you find most comfortable. When you visit and look around, you’ll see that folks in our church family wear a variety of styles, from business casual to jeans. Everyone is welcome at Delaware Bible Church, regardless of the formality of their clothing preferences!
I don’t own a Bible. May I still come?

Of course! In fact, if you do not already own a Bible, we would love to give you one when you visit. When you arrive, let the volunteers at the Welcome Center know that you would like a Bible; they would be happy to provide you with a new Bible, which you may keep.

What version of the Bible will I hear?
We preach and teach out of the English Standard Version (ESV). Other reliable translations that are based on the languages that the Bible was written in may be referenced as well.
What type of music will I hear?

We seek to honor God through a blended worship style. Our Worship Team, accompanied by a variety of instruments, leads the congregation in singing a selection of hymns (both modern and traditional) and contemporary worship songs that are rich in doctrine. This worship time also features an anthem from our Choir as well as occasional special music. Our focus is on music that proclaims who God is, what He has done for us, and how we can live for Him.

What are your sermons like?
We typically preach verse-by-verse through books of the Bible. Our focus is on teaching the whole counsel of God while making relevant applications to daily life. Occasionally we will have a topical series that addresses a specific topic through the lens of Scripture.
What denomination are you a part of?

We are a fully non-denominational Bible church. Our church government structure is elder-led, with the membership of the church voting on any doctrinal changes and other key areas of church ministry. For more details, see WHAT WE BELIEVE.

I'm hearing impaired. Can you accommodate me?

Accommodations are available for those who are hearing impaired. Contact the CHURCH OFFICE to learn more.

OK—I want to visit! What should I do when I first arrive?
When you arrive, come in through our main entrance. Expect to be greeted and given a church bulletin. Nearby you will see our Welcome Center. We invite you to stop there to receive material about the ministries that we provide. The volunteers at the Welcome Center will be happy to answer any questions you have, as well!

We look forward to meeting you!
